Short Description:

Majidea zanguebarica is an attractive tropical evergreen tree native to East Africa, admired for its glossy foliage, small decorative flowers, and distinctive seed capsules. When the capsules split open, they reveal striking black seeds contrasting with the colourful inner fruit, making the tree interesting for ornamental gardens and botanical collections.

This slow-growing tree thrives in warm tropical and subtropical climates with well-drained soil and a sunny to partially shaded location. It is suitable for spacious gardens and collectors of unusual tropical trees. The seeds are valued for their distinctive appearance; they should not be consumed, as their safety for ingestion is not established.
