Description:

Commiphora gileadensis is a small aromatic shrub or tree native to parts of the Arabian Peninsula and surrounding dry regions. It has smooth, pale bark, small leaves and resin-producing tissues. Historically, its fragrant resin and oil were highly valued and associated with the famous Balm of Gilead. The plant prefers hot, dry conditions and is well adapted to arid environments.
 
Germination tips:
Use fresh seeds when possible, as viability can decline with storage. Soak seeds in warm water for 12–24 hours, then sow about 0.5–1 cm deep in a sandy, extremely well-draining mix. Keep at 25–30°C, with gentle moisture and good airflow. Germination may be slow and irregular, sometimes taking several weeks. Once seedlings emerge, provide bright light/full sun and avoid overwatering.
