Ficus infectoria is a large, fast-growing tropical fig tree native to the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. It is valued for its broad crown, attractive foliage, and small figs that are produced in clusters.

Growing Tips

  • 🌱 Sowing: Sprinkle the tiny seeds evenly over the surface of a moist, well-draining seed-starting mix. Press gently into the surface; do not bury deeply.

  • 💧 Moisture: Keep the medium consistently moist with good drainage.

  • ☀️ Light: Provide bright, filtered light during germination.

  • 🌡️ Temperature: Maintain 24–30°C for good germination.

  • 🌿 Transplanting: Carefully pot up seedlings once they have developed several true leaves.

Germination: Usually 2–6 weeks under warm, humid conditions. Fresh seed generally gives the best results.
