Short Description:
Digitalis lanata is a biennial or short-lived perennial native to southeastern Europe. It is known for its tall spikes of creamy white to pale yellow flowers with brown veining and its woolly flower buds. This ornamental and medicinal plant is the primary commercial source of the cardiac glycosides digoxin and digitoxin, making it an important species in the pharmaceutical industry. All parts of the plant are highly toxic if ingested.
 
Germination Tips:
Surface sow seeds on a moist, well-draining seed-starting mix, as they need light to germinate.
Do not cover the seeds, or cover only very lightly with fine vermiculite.
Maintain a temperature of 18–22°C.
Keep the growing medium evenly moist but not waterlogged.
Germination typically occurs within 14–28 days.
Transplant seedlings after they develop several true leaves and provide full sun to partial shade.
