Ruta corsica
Common Names: Corsican Rue

Short Description:
Ruta corsica is a compact, evergreen aromatic shrub native to the Mediterranean islands of Corsica and Sardinia. It features finely divided blue-green foliage and clusters of bright yellow flowers that bloom in summer. Valued for its ornamental appearance, drought tolerance, and fragrant leaves, it is well suited to rock gardens, herb gardens, and Mediterranean-style landscapes. Like other rue species, it should be handled with care, as the sap may cause skin irritation in sunlight.

Germination Tips:

  • Sow seeds on the surface or cover only very lightly with a thin layer of fine soil or vermiculite.
  • Use a well-draining seed-starting mix.
  • Maintain a temperature of 18–22°C.
  • Keep the growing medium lightly moist but not waterlogged.
  • Germination usually occurs within 2–6 weeks.
  • Provide bright light after germination and transplant seedlings once they are well established.
